Marie-Christine Levet

Founding Partner

Marie-Christine Levet is a French internet pioneer with 23 years of experience in new technology. She has been the founder and CEO of major internet and media companies (Lycos, Club-Internet, Groupe Tests…)

Following her accomplished entrepreneurial life, she turned to venture capital in order to bring her experience to younger CEOs. In 2009, she took part, as a partner, in the launch of Jaina Capital, one of France’s first entrepreneurs funds.

A mother of two sons and a strong believer of the power and impact of innovative education, Marie-Christine decided to create, in 2017, EDUCAPITAL, the first European fund dedicated to Edtech.

She is an HEC graduate and she holds an INSEAD MBA.

Litzie Maarek

Founding Partner

Litzie Maarek has 14 years of experience in private equity.

‍

She started in Leverage Finance at CACIB before joining Strategic Investment Fund and then Public Investment Bank, where she took part in the creation of the Large Venture Fund, dedicated to late stage venture capital investment.

Joining Marie-Christine to co-found Educapital was the natural next step for her, allowing her to combine her passion for entrepreneurship and innovation with a deep interest for the new technologies and transformative models impacting the way we all learn.

Litzie has two sons. She holds a degree in Engineering and Finance from Ecole Centrale Paris. She is a member of Conseil National du Numérique (CNNUM).

Jonathan Denais

Investment Director

Prior to joining Educapital, Jonathan led Open CNP, the corporate venture fund of CNP Assurances.
Over 6 years, he managed a 100m€ fund, focused on Seed to Series B investments in European start-ups within Fintech, Insurtech, Digital Health and B2B Services.
He partnered with 16 companies, including 2 unicorns (Lydia and Alan).

Before that, he started in 2012 as a Seed investor at Ariadne Capital in London and invested in early growth as part of Time for Growth, a fund investing in European high-growth start-ups.

Géraldine Fillet

Associate

Géraldine started her carreer in 2017 in the business development of startups (Nestor Paris, Patrivia). In 2019 and 2020, she joined BlackFin Tech and Revaia as an analyst intern, working on Seed to Series B investments in Fintech and B2B SaaS. She also had a chance to work on fundraising in the entrepreneurial context of Revaia. In early 2021, she joined Ring Capital as a full time investor to work on social and environmental VC investing. Géraldine graduated from EDHEC in 2020 and joined Educapital in 2023.

Marie Geneste

Investment Director

Marie started investing in tech in 2008 for the leading TV broadcaster TF1. She worked for 6 years for the global media group Lagardere, first on various corporate finance assignments, prior to launching the Corporate Venture arm of the group. In 2016, she moved to London and worked as Chief of Staff to the CEO of a SVOD start-up. She then returned to investment at Edenred Capital, the London-based corporate venture firm, where she led 12+ early stage investments in Future of Work and Fintech in Europe.
Marie is an HEC graduate. She joined Educapital in 2021.

Alexandre Glaser

Principal

A graduate of ESCP Europe (Grande Ecole Program), Sciences Po Paris (Economics and Public Policy) and holder of a master’s degree in History of Philosophy from the Sorbonne, Alexandre Glaser joined Educapital in January 2020.

He gained experience in financial analysis and modeling in the Large Cap Investment Banking division (Global Financial Advisory) at Rothschild & Co (Paris), where he participated to the M&A, debt issuance and IPO (M&A, ECM, DCM) operations for which Rothschild was mandated.

Maxime Lacoume

General Secretary & CFO

Maxime Lacoume has 10 years of experience in private equity and venture capital.

He began his career as a CFO at Credit Agricole in a regional private equity fund in Bordeaux focusing on growth capital and LBO operations dedicated to mid-cap companies. Maxime also took part in the creation of a venture capital fund to support the development of local start-ups.

Maxime graduated from IAE Bordeaux and University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
